Shouldn't the tile width at zoom 0 be the circumference of the earth? That's about 24,901 mi or 40,075 km. Your number looks more like it's in miles. Or are you measuring the height of the tile? But then the height should be less than half of the width in real-world units, since it's going only to 85º N and S.
