WeWork Place Ville-Marie Mac OS X Printing Instructions
license: cc-by-4.0

Open these instructions in a browser at bit.ly/weworkvillemarie

Based on the official instructions (bit.ly/weworkprintosx), without the cruft.

Install the printer drivers

  1. Download the HP Printer Drivers (bit.ly/weworkprintosxhp).
  2. Open the HP-Color-LaserJet-Enterprise-flow-MFP-M880_MacOSX.dmg file that you downloaded (your browser may have already opened it).
  3. Then, open the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise flow MFP M880.pkg file that it contains.
  4. Install the software. You'll get to a screen with an Add Printer button. Click it. (If you don't, you can get back here later in three steps: open System Preferences, click Printers & Scanners, and click the + button.)
  5. Click the IP tab, and fill in:
  • Address: p.wework.com
  • Protocol: leave the default (Internet Printing Protocol - IPP)
  • Queue: printers/WeWork
  • Name: leave the default (or put whatever)
  • Use: pick Select Software from the dropdown, search for "m880" and select HP Color LaserJet Flow MFP m880
  1. Click Add.
  2. On the next screen, make sure Duplex Unit is checked to be able to print double-sided.
  3. Finish the installation.

Install PaperCut

  1. Download PaperCut (bit.ly/papercutosx).
  2. Open the Papercut-OSX.zip file that you downloaded (your browser may have already opened it).
  3. Open the mac folder that was created.
  4. Next, you need to open the PCClient or PCClient.app file that it contains. If you double-click it, you'll see a warning message. Instead, control-click or right-click it and select Open to run the program.
  5. PaperCut should open with a login screen. You can get the login details via the WeWork website or the mobile app:
  • Website: Go to members.wework.com/our-services, or go to members.wework.com and click IT, Print, & Handyman in the left menu. Then scroll down to find your Login and PIN.
  • App: Open the app, tap More at the bottom-right and tap Building Guide. The PRINT ID and PRINT PIN will be at the top, below the WIFI details.

Print (finally!)

IMPORTANT: You must have PaperCut's PCClient app running. Otherwise, your document will be sent into the void, and you will not print today.

  1. Print a document as you would normally. You'll see a cryptic message about a queue.
  2. Access the PaperCut web interface. Either:
  1. Your browser will display a security warning. You'll need to add an exception to proceed. The browser may make this hard to do, because it doesn't want you to bypass its security measures.
  2. Click Jobs Pending Release in the left menu of the web interface.
  3. Click the Release All button. You'll see a warning message. To print at the printer near the conference rooms, click the printer name ending in "b". To print at the printer near the kitchen, click the printer name ending in "a".
  4. Click the Release All button again.
  5. Is that the sound of a printer? Yes, you made it! Have a drink!

Thanks for these instructions! One suggestion:
Instead of changing the System Preferences, it is much better to control-click on the application icon. A dialog will appear allowing you to approve this one application.
